Welcome to Day 2 of the 2016 Prometheus Group User Conference! Once everyone settled in Thursday morning, Mobile Product Manager Kara Culver kicked off Day 2 with a distinguished panel of Prometheus Mobile users. The panelists work in industries ranging from oil & gas to manufacturing and use mobile on a range of devices, including iPads, Windows laptops, Andriod tablets, and Windows Toughpads. Each panelist uses mobile for a different purpose, including routes and inspections, barcode scanning, measurement points, and production quality inspection. The panelists shared their experiences with rolling out a mobile solution, mentioning challenges and lessons learned.
During the first breakout of the day, Prometheus Group Senior Consultant Justin Fox moderated a panel of Prometheus all-stars as they discussed planning, scheduling, and executing STOs in SAP. Panelists discussed best practices and tips and tricks from their experience, and some detailed how they streamlined their shutdown and turnaround processes with the Prometheus STO add-on for ERP Advanced. Meanwhile, Kara Culver and Korry Miller, an SAP PM Project Manager, discussed tips for Mobile implementation and how Korry's company uses Mobile on iPads for inventory management, including barcode scanning and issuing parts.
In the second round of breakout sessions, Justin Fox led a workshop and Prometheus Group University highlight on getting the most out of your equipment catalog history with notifications and object-specific code groupings. Justin's tips for best practices in this area are important for meaningful object history and successful reliability. Overall goals for the session included effective entry, trending, and long-term analysis. Kara Culver led her third session of the day with a product spotlight on new Mobile features. The biggest takeaway from the spotlight was Mobile's new Advanced Admin Panel, which boasts security enhancement and now gives administrators the flexibility to customize Mobile for different roles. In addition, Mobile now offers audit logging for Analytics and a brand-new, enhanced interface. For a full demo on all of Mobile's new features, contact us.
Two general sessions wrapped up Day 2. In the first, Jason Holcombe, a scheduler from an oil field in Alaska, spoke about the power of a strong partnership with Prometheus Group. Jason's strong commitment to best practices and quarterly visits from Prometheus Group helped evolve his maintenance operation into an advanced process capable of successfully handling STOs. Prometheus Group's VP of Professional Services, Jeff Kinard, ended the day by presenting new product features that are creating a buzz. He explained the transition to ERP Advanced and the new Prometheus Scheduler that integrates all previous scheduling tools with no loss in functionality. Stay tuned for another blog post that details the new product groupings and gives you a "cheat sheet" to better understand the transition.
Jeff Kinard presented to an excited crowd the morning of Day 3. He covered the evolution of KPIs into Prometheus Analytics and its capabilities for creating diverse reports at an enterprise level outside of SAP. Current KPI customers get special access and pricing for Analytics, and Jeff offered the "Analytics Challenge" for the second year in a row. The challenge is this: let us know what reports you are struggling with because too much time is required for customization, and we will get them to you in two weeks. If you're interested in taking the challenge, sign up here.
We wrapped up Day 3 and the 2016 Conference by thanking our customers for taking the time to help and educate others at the User Conference. We presented five special attendees with customer awards, and raffled off a trip to next year's European User Conference!
